- CDDA.EXE is a simple DOS utility which allows you to read CD Digital Audio
- ('Redbook'/ CD-DA - ie normal audio CDs) directly from a supported drive
- and save it to a disk file in Windows .WAV format. Note that preserving the
- original quality of the CD Digital Audio information requires LARGE amounts
- of disk space. (For the techies - audio information is stored at 44K,
- 16 bit, stereo).
-
- To run this utility, simply enter the command:
-
- CDDA [drive:]
-
- If the optional drive letter is not specified, CDDA will use the first
- available CD-ROM drive. CDDA will prompt you for other information as it
- is required.
-
- In order to read Digital audio, you require both CD-ROM drive and device
- driver which support this feature. Version 2.10 of Corel Universal CD-ROM
- Device Driver (CUNI_ASP.SYS) supports this feature, initially with the
- following drives:
-
- Toshiba XM3401
- Sony CDU-561, CDU-7811
- Compaq CDU-561
- AppleCD 300
